HMC/CMC Summer Startup Program Information Session
December 7, 2016 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Text Description:
The Harvey Mudd Computer Science Department and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at CMC are proud to announce a new collaborative program for rising sophomores and juniors. Participants will spend 10 weeks of the summer on the HMC campus building out an idea of their choice with close supervision from HMC Computer Science professors and CMC advisors. You will work in teams of 4-5 students to come up with an innovative idea, develop a prototype, prepare a pitch deck and presentation and, at the end of the program, pitch your start-up idea to the Harvey Mudd Entrepreneurial Network. You need to be totally committed to working in a group and learning new skills such as programming, developing a business model, developing communication skills, etc. All participants will live on the HMC’s campus to create a community of students interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. Housing expenses for the selected CMC students will be paid by the CIE/CMC. Please note that you must have taken at least CS 5 at Mudd (or equivalent) and ECN 50 (or equivalent) by the end of this school year to qualify for the program. Additional classes in computer science are not required but are recommended. ECN 86 is also highly recommended for the business modeling portion of the summer program. Feel free to reach out to Professor Janet Smith (janet.smith@cmc.edu) or Kevin Lynch (klynch17@students.claremontmckenna.edu) if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you at the info session! Application deadline is January 20, 2017. Selections will be announced in early February 2017. Please send resume and transcript to cie@cmc.edu to support your application. RSVP for the Information Session: here Application: here |
