Jay Maliye is an Economics and Data Science major at CMC, graduating in 2023. He is interested in finance, data analytics, and the intersection of the two. On campus, in addition to being a CIE Fellow, he is a Project Leader at the Vector Data Analytics club, where he is spearheading a Quant Finance Project aimed at using Python to build a trading algorithm; he is a Research Assistant at the Kravis Leadership Institute, working on finding a relationship between alumni’s performance at CMC and early success in their careers; he is also an Associate Consultant at The Graphite Group, where he consults for small businesses and startups. He has experience working at startups — this summer he analyzed healthcare infrastructure to determine optimal locations to install rapidly deployable hospital structures to relieve pressure amid the COVID-19 pandemic. His technical skills include Python, Stata, Java, and Excel. He aspires to use his skills and analytical mind to create models and solve problems. In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing soccer, traveling, experimenting with various cuisines, and networking with like-minded people.
