Rahul Jain is a Pomona ’24 from Bellevue, Washington who intends to study Economics and Computer Science. Throughout high school, Rahul has had a focus on research and the intersection of technology and society. Some topics he has explored include: the social and economic consequences of automation, the positive and negative effects of exclusively technology-based teaching methods in K-12 classrooms, and the implications of adopting Bitcoin as a global currency. In his junior year, he designed an online learning platform with the intent of improving teen financial literacy rates, ultimately winning the award for best design at TechStars Startup Weekend Seattle, which only amplified his passion for entrepreneurship. Outside of this, he is also interested in social justice, currently serving as managing editor of Gen Rise Media, and enjoys listening to jazz.
