On Friday, September 5th, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) participated in Claremont McKenna College’s annual club fair. Over the course of the day, nearly seventy students visited the CIE table and asked about the differing programs that the Center offers. Some students were intrigued by past speakers the Center has brought to campus, while others were interested in being a part of The Vanguard, the Claremont Colleges only online publication dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation. There were even a few new students who mentioned that they had applied to CMC specifically because of their exposure to the CIE and SOURCE. In fact, one transfer student from Colby College told CIE members that he had left Colby because he felt the administration had under appreciated the importance of entrepreneurship on campus and consequently did not provide an adequate amount of resources for prospective entrepreneurs. Thankfully, this is not the case at CMC and new students recognize this fact. For those of us at the CIE, the positive reception is extremely encouraging and we cannot wait to connect with young entrepreneurs on campus in the coming weeks.
